GATE 2014 Application Procedure details the process of applying online for the Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering examination. The GATE 2014 Application is online and must be through the GOAPS. Candidates have to follow the guidelines for fee payment, photographs and signatures as well submission of the printout of the online application form as specified in the Application Procedure of GATE 2014. GATE 2014 Application Procedure: The following steps have to be followed

GATE 2014 Application Fee Payment Mode:
A. Online
- Candidates have to pay online through Netbanking.
- Candidates can check the payment status on the GOAPS site by logging in or check from the bank
- In case the GATE 2014 Application Fee amount has been debited from the bank account and is not acknowledged by GOAPS, the money will be credited back to the candidate’s bank account within three working days.
- In such a case, candidates are advised to make a fresh payment using GOAPS, without waiting for the money to be credited back to their account to ensure that their GATE 2014 Application is on time.
B. Offline:
- Candidates can pay at any State Bank of India (SBI) or Syndicate Bank Branches
- While filling in the GATE 2014 Application, candidates have to choose the offline payment
- A copy of the GATE 2014 Challan in triplicate with the candidate’s details filled in will be generated in PDF format.
- This Challan has to be printed and signed by the candidate after filling in the date.
- Payment can be made ONLY after 48 hours of the challan generation at the specified banks
- To pay the GATE 2014 Application Fees, Candidates need not have an account at the bank
- The data pertaining to the candidate in the bank’s Management Information System (MIS) is verified by the bank teller before payment of the GATE 2013 Application Fees can be made.
- The bank will retain one copy of the challan and give back the remaining two copies; GATE Copy to be sent along with the printed application form and Candidate’s copy for candidate’s record.
Important: The GATE 2013 Application Procedure is complete only if the printout of the online Application form for GATE 2014 is sent to the GATE office as mentioned below.
3. GATE 2014 Printout of Online Application Form:
- After Submission of the Online Application Form of GATE 2014, the “Download Filled Application” option has to be clicked to print the two pages as follows
Page 1 contains the instructions to the candidates and the Address slip to send the printout of the Application Form to.
Page 2 contains the online Application form duly filled in as per the details entered by the candidate. - A standard passport size color photograph must be pasted in the space provided, and signature of the candidate must be provided in the box provided in Printout of the GATE 2014 Application Form
- Important: This photograph and signature should be an EXACT match to the photograph and signature uploaded electronically on GOAPS
- The application is liable to be rejected if there is any mismatch between the two.
- Note: The GATE 2014 Online Application will contain the certificate to be signed by the college Principal or may be left blank (depending on the eligibility status).
Documents to be enclosed with Printout of the GATE 2014 Online Application Form:
- Bank Challan in case of offline Payment of Application Fees
- Degree Certificate/ Provisional Certificate/ Course Completion Certificate
- Category Certificate for SC/ST/PD candidates if applicable issued by the specified authorities.
- PD Category Certificate to be verified during admission
- Certificate from Principal with the principal’s signature and seal
- Applicants, who require a scribe to assist writing the exam, also need to provide a valid PD certificate
4. Submission of the Printout of the GATE 2014 Application Form: before October 10, 2013
- Candidates must put the Application Form printout duly signed with photograph and the above mentioned documents in an A4 size envelope.
- Do not fold the application form
- The Address Slip provided during the printing of the online application form must be affixed on the envelope.
Important:This Address Slip contains a barcode required to process the applications and therefore differ from candidate to candidate. Hence candidates must take care to use the one provided to them. - The GATE 2014 Application form must be sealed as mentioned above by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to the address mentioned in the Address Slip. Candidates can even submit the Application form in person.
- Important: A copy of Page 2 of the Application form has to be filed by the candidate for future reference.
